About me

I recently attained my Master of Engineering in Computer Science from Cornell University at the Cornell Tech campus in NYC.

I love the challenges I get to face by being a software engineer, whether its learning how to stack smash in C or training a neural net in PyTorch. Just as long as there's not PHP involved. I get the most joy when I'm working on systems that need to work at scale. As the quote goes, "A million requests an hour isn't cool. You know what's cool? A billion". Or that's how I remember it anyway :)

Before being totally head down behind a keyboard, I graduated with a BSc in Biology from the University of Manchester in the UK. My capstone project was in computational biology, modelling evolutionary changes in viral protein structure. This began my shift into computer science and I have been bashing away with my vim bindings ever since!

Projects

Alongside my work on professional projects, here's what I've been doing with my free time!

Lexture

A lecture video platform using AI to help find learning content fast. The frontend is built with plain HTML/CSS/JS and the backend uses express. We leveraged GCP ML services to integrate machine learning capabilities into the app.

This is still very rough around the edges, but in response to our new remote existence I am building a remote trivia platform for an engaging quizzing experience!
